Dr. Chris Learning is a dedicated veterinarian originally from New York. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from the University of Delaware before completing his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida.
Dr. Learning has a strong clinical interest in soft tissue surgery, diagnostic imaging, and internal medicine. He is especially passionate about avian and exotic animal medicine, with hands-on experience treating a wide variety of species including birds, reptiles, amphibians, and exotic mammals.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Learning is actively involved with local wildlife and exotic animal rescue organizations. He regularly volunteers his veterinary skills to support parrot rehabilitation centers and wildlife rescue groups, providing medical care, fostering animals in recovery, and educating the public on responsible exotic animal stewardship.
Dr. Learning is a proud member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV), the Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV), and the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV). These affiliations reflect his commitment to advancing the field of exotic animal medicine and ensuring the highest standards of care for all species.
Outside of work, Dr. Learning enjoys attending baseball games, exploring the vibrant city of St. Petersburg, and spending quality time with friends.
